Table of Contents

The Table of Contents (TOC) feature allows you to create an automatically updated overview of your document's structure.
How to use the Table of Contents:
  • Type "/toc" and press Enter to create the TOC.
  • The TOC updates automatically when you modify headings in the document.

AI Menu

Generate and refine content with AI.
Access the AI menu in many ways:
  1. Press "⌘ + J".
  1. Select text and click "Ask AI" in the floating toolbar
  1. Click ⋮⋮ or right-click a block and select "Ask AI"
  1. Type "/ai"
  1. Press space in an empty block. Try it out:

Once opened, you can:
  • Type a prompt or use preset commands

The AI chat keeps a history of the conversation until you accept or discard the changes. Clicking outside or pressing Escape resets the chat.

AI Copilot

AI Copilot provides intelligent auto-completion suggestions as you write.
How to use AI Copilot:
  • Position your cursor at the end of a paragraph where you want to add text.
  • Press "Ctrl + Space" to trigger AI auto-completion.
  • Press "Ctrl + Space" again for alternative AI suggestions.
Accepting suggestions:
  • Tab: Accept the entire suggestion
  • Command + Right Arrow: Complete one word at a time
Additional features:
  • Ghost text remains visible as long as you continue typing the same letters as the suggestion.
  • Undo AI auto-completion:
    • Press "Ctrl + Z" to undo the entire suggestion if accepted with Tab.
    • Press "Ctrl + Z" to undo one word at a time if accepted with Command + Right Arrow.
Use Command + Right Arrow to carefully review and accept parts of the suggestion.

Callout

Use callouts to highlight important information or add special notes to your document.
How to use callouts:
  • Type "/callout" to trigger the callout menu and insert a callout.
  • Click on the default emoji to modify it and choose a different one.

This is an example callout. You can change the emoji by clicking on it, and add your content here.


Equation

  • Click on any equation to edit it. Press Escape to close the menu without editing it.
  • You can navigate through the equation by using the arrow keys
  • Use the slash command (/equation) to insert a new equation
  • Use the slash command (/inline equation) for inline equations

Upload Files

Our editor supports various media types for upload, including images, videos, audio, and files.
Use the backslash (/) to insert the upload.

Images

  • Type "/image" to insert the image.
  • Upload by clicking the button or use "Embed link" to insert a URL.
  • Resize images using the vertical edge bars.
  • Use top-right corner options to: align, caption, expand, download, or modify the block.


Videos

  • Type "/video" to insert the video.
  • Upload or embed a video URL.
  • Resize videos using the vertical edge bars.
  • Use top-right corner options to: align, caption, view original, or modify the block.


Audio

  • Type "/audio" to insert the audio.
  • Upload or embed an audio URL.
  • Use the top-right corner to access the block menu and modify the audio block.


Files

  • Type "/file" to insert the file.
  • Upload or embed a file URL.
  • Use the top-right corner to access the block menu and modify the file block.

Slash Menu

The slash menu provides quick access to various formatting options, content types, and AI assistance.
How to use the slash menu:
  • Type '/' anywhere in your document to open the slash menu.
  • Start typing to filter options or use arrow keys to navigate.
  • Press Enter or click to select an option.
  • Press Escape to close the menu without selecting.
Available categories and options include:
  • AI: Generate content using AI assistance
  • Basic Blocks: Text, Headings, Lists, Toggle, Code Block, Table, Blockquote, Callout
  • Media: Image, Video, Audio, File
  • Advanced Blocks: Table of Contents, Equation, 3 Columns
  • Inline Elements: Inline Equation, Date
  • Turn Into: Convert blocks to different types
  • Actions: Delete, Duplicate
  • Text Color: Various color options
  • Background Color: Various background color options
Use keywords to quickly find options. For example, type '/h1' for Heading 1, '/img' for Image, or '/ai' for AI assistance.

Block Menu

Open the block menu:
  • Click on a drag handle to open the block menu.
  • Right-click any unselected block to open the context menu. If you right-click within a selected block, you'll see the browser's native context menu instead.
Available options in the block menu:
  • Comment the block text.
  • Ask AI to edit the block.
  • Delete the block.
  • Duplicate the block.
  • Turn the block type into another block type.
  • Color: update the block text color or background color.
You can select multiple blocks and apply block menu actions to all of them at once!

Floating Toolbar

The floating toolbar provides quick access to formatting options and actions for selected text.
How to use the floating toolbar:
  • Select any text to invoke the floating toolbar.
With the floating toolbar, you can:
  • Ask AI for assistance
  • Add a comment to the selected text
  • Transform the selected into an another block
  • Apply text formatting: bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, code
  • Mark text as an equation
  • Change text color or background color
  • Open the block menu for additional options

Media Toolbar

The media toolbar provides tools for managing and customizing media elements in your document.
How to use the media toolbar:
  • Hover over the image to reveal the controller buttons at the top right corner.
  • Click on the alignment icon to adjust the positioning of the media.
  • Use the caption button to add or edit the media caption.
  • Click on the download button to download the media.
  • Use the preview button to view the media in full size.
  • Open the block menu by clicking on the three dots.

You can resize the image by dragging the handles on the left and right sides. The caption will automatically adjust to match the image width.
